Several middle school students of Monroe Elementary suffered injuries after their school bus on March 21 struck a garbage truck, an article of WBAY reported.
The accident reportedly happened about 8:00 a.m. at Clover Road and County CR. The bus, hauling six students, supposedly pulled out and struck a garbage truck of Blue Water Services. Some school bus occupants suffered minor injuries and one other was airlifted to a hospital. The school bus driver, who is in his 60s, sustained head and back injuries that were considered serious. The garbage truck driver also sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Brandt Buses owner, Steve Roekle, stated that the involved driver has “no accident history” and has driven for over five years during employment in the company. Establishments near the crash scene experienced power interruption after a utility pole was damaged, Wisconsin Public Service stated.
