Approximately 2,700 reasing chairs sold in the U.S. are being recalled by a California-based company after a consumer sustained an injury due to a defect in the chair’s design, an article of cpsc.gov reported on December 3.
The recall affects the Reading Chairs with poorly-made front legs exclusively distributed by Cost Plus World Market and World Market. Reports said either of the two front legs may break due to insufficient support. The recalling company received eight complaints of the chair legs bending or breaking, with one individual sustaining injuries during a fall.
Owners of the recalled chairs were told to visit the company’s website for information on regarding the recall, and Cost Plus World Market has agreed to replace the affected chairs for free.
