228,000 Jeep Cherokees with airbag problem recalled

Posted under Product Liability

Over 228,000 Jeep Cherokee SUVs are being recalled to address an airbag problem that may potentially harm its occupants, syracuse.com reported on February 3.

The side airbags of the affected vehicles may suddenly deploy even if it is not needed. Jeep’s parent company Fiat Chrysler stated that they are aware of some Jeeps’ airbags deploying unintentionally during off-road operations or when drivers abruptly change their direction. Drivers are at risk of suffering injuries if the side airbags deploy unintentionally. To address the issue, Jeep dealers will fine tune the software of the affected vehicles.

Suffering injuries in car accidents often result in great financial loss due to expensive hospitalizations and property damage. However, if this has happened to you, working with a skilled lawyer is important to help determine if a manufacturing defect or design flaw caused your accident.
