On Monday, February 24 one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident involving Salma Hayek’s brother.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened around 5 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard. Sami Hayek, 40, lost control of the 2006 Ford GT that he was driving and crossed over into the oncoming westbound lanes. The sports car struck and oncoming Toyota Tacoma driven by 20-year-old Alvin Gomez.
Hayek’s passenger, 43-year-old Ian Cuttler Sala, died at the scene. Both Hayek and Gomez were transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Police are still investigating possible causes for the crash.
