A woman was injured in an Appleton van accident Tuesday
According to officials with the Appleton Police Department,
the two-vehicle accident occurred
shortly after 12:00 p.m. in downtown Appleton. Police say a minivan
traveling west on Franklin Street ran a red light, causing the accident. The
minivan drove through the red light and collided with a sport utility vehicle
driven by a 31 year-old Appleton woman on south Division Street.
According to the accident report, the force of the impact
caused the SUV to rollover. The 31 year-old woman sustained
non-life-threatening injuries in the accident. She was transported by ground
ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. Her name has not been released.
The minivan was driven by a 66 year-old Appleton woman. She
was not injured in the crash. She told police she received a cell phone call
just before running the red light. Her name has not been released.
