A man was killed in an Appleton car accident Wednesday night.
According to officials
with the Appleton Police Department, 55 year-old Jeffrey Bunker died of a head
injury he sustained Wednesday night when he crashed his bicycle in the 200
block of North Richmond Street and then was struck by a car. Police said it was
raining at the time of the accident and witnesses told investigators Bunker had
crashed his bicycle.
Bunker fell onto the
northbound lanes of North Richmond when he was struck by a car driven by an 85
year-old Appleton man.
According to Appleton
Police Lieutenant Pat Matuszewski, no arrests have been made or citations
issued in connection with the crash. “Due to weather conditions at the time, by
the time he saw him laying in the roadway, it was too late,” Matuszewski said.
The crash remains under
investigation by the Appleton Police Department.
