An Appleton woman was injured in a car accident Thursday night on State Road 76.
According to officials with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department, 21 year-old Amanda Moran was injured when her car collided with a truck at the intersection of State 76 and Larsen Road. Deputies say Moran followed another car from the stop sign going west on Larsen road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday when she entered the path of a FedEx truck heading south on State 76.
According to Winnebago County Sheriff's Lieutenant Lara Vendola-MEsser, Moran sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and was transported by ambulance to Theda Clark Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the FedEx truck, 53 year-old Hortonville-resident Barry Mulroy, was not injured in the crash.
The highway was particularly busy at the time of the crash because of detoured traffic from U.S. 41, Vendola-Messer said.
