An two-vehicle car accident occurred in Pleasant Prarie last week leaving a 5-year old girl and her grandmother injured. Police report that the accident happened when the grandmother attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection of Green Bay Road and 85th Street. During the turn, a van crashed into the vehicle.
Police arrived at the scene of the car accident to find the 5-year old girl strapped into her children's car seat and unconscious. Paramedics rushed the girl and her grandmother to a nearby hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries. Upon arrival, doctors decided to transfer the young girl to the Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa due to the serious nature of her head injuries.
Police continue to investigate the accident and believe that driver inattention on the part of the van's driver may be to blame.
