A construction site in Appleton recently caught fire after a tank containing 1,000 pounds of propane gas erupted, an article of Fox 11 News reported on February 9.
According to reports, no one suffered injuries in the explosion and fire that took place at a construction site near the intersection of E. Glenhurst Lane and E. Milestone on February 8. A technician was notified after workers in the area noticed a strong propane odor and feared a slow leak. As the technician was attempting to fix the issue, a piece of the tank broke and propane began to flow freely from the vessel. The technician, whose name was withheld, immediately began telling all workers to vacate the area moments before the propane erupted into flames. Aside from the construction site, some parked vehicles in the vicinity sustained damages. Authorities are investigating the workplace explosion incident.
