88K slingshots in the US that may cause injury recalled

Posted under Product Liability

An estimated 88,000 slingshots used in sports and hunting are being recalled in the U.S. due to complaints of injuries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on July 8.

According to reports, the recall affects the “Black Widow” slingshots of Barnett Outdoors LLC that are equipped with faulty wrist straps that may slide from their place during operation. Consumers may suffer facial or body injuries if the wrist strap slides off and the slingshot rebounds. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission was aware of two incidents of slingshot users suffering from injuries. People who own the recalled slingshots are advised to refrain from using the product and call Barnett to get a free wrist strap.

Costly hospitalizations often occur when people suffer injuries that are caused by defective products sold on the market. If this has happened to you, the attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® may help you pursue financial compensation from those responsible.
