Graco recalls millions of strollers for possible finger amputation risks

Posted under Product Liability

Approximately 4.7 million strollers are being recalled by Graco in the U.S. over reports of serious finger injuries in children, CNN reported on November 21.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that children may suffer severe finger lacerations or even amputations from the hinges of their strollers. Graco reportedly issued the voluntary recall to 11 models of their strollers after incidents of finger-related injuries were reported. Children may suffer serious injuries if the hinges accidentally collapse. People who own the affected models are advised to unfold the strollers completely and make sure the hinges are in the lock position before using it. Repair kits will be provided by Graco to owners of recalled strollers.
