Fatal car crash kills journalist

Posted under Car Accidents

Journalist Michael Hastings recently died in a fatal car crash in Los Angeles on June 18.

Editor-in-chief of online news outlet BuzzFeed, Ben Smith, said in a statement that Hastings, a Rolling Stone magazine contributing editor, had been killed in an accident, but provided no further details about the death.

Authorities did receive a report of a car crash near Hollywood in which a man was killed after his car struck a palm tree. As a result of the accident, the man was burned beyond recognition.

Smith said in a statement that he is shocked at the untimely death.

33-year-old Hastings also wrote for BuzzFeed and had worked for GQ magazine and Newsweek. However, he was most known for his Rolling Stone article entitled “The Runaway General” that led to General McChrystal resigning from his post as a U.S. commander in Afghanistan in 2010.

The legal team at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. sends their thoughts and condolences to Hastings’ family and friends.
