Athletic director at University of Wisconsin resigns after sexual assault allegations

Posted under Uncategorized

The senior associate athletic director at the University of Wisconsin resigned on January 6, 2012 after he was accused of sexually assaulting a student while in California.

The incident took place in a hotel room in California when the University of Wisconsin was visiting to take part in the Rose Bowl.  The athletic director was having a party in his hotel room and staff and student employees were present. Alcohol was also provided even though all of the individuals at the party were not of legal drinking age.

The athletic director proceeded to become intoxicated and approached a student employee from the university. He took the student’s belt off and reached his hand down the front of the male student’s pants. As soon as the incident happened, the student reported the entire account to his manager. Official complaints were filed when the team returned to Madison. An investigation into the charges is still underway.
