The Maryland family of a 17-year-old girl, who died after wisdom teeth surgery, have filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the oral surgeon and anesthesiologist who are connected to the surgery.

After the routine wisdom tooth surgery, complications resulted in the 17-year-old’s death. The official cause of her death was determined to be hypoxia, which occurs when there is an insufficient amount of oxygen received while being under anesthesia.

In the lawsuit, both the surgeon and anesthesiologist were accused of negligence.
