Motorcyclist Injured in Appleton Auto Accident

A man was injured in an Appleton motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon.

According to Appleton Police Department officials, the accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the intersection of West College Avenue and South Perkins Street. Police say the driver of a van was attempting to turn north onto Perkins Street when a motorcyclist heading east collided with the rear of vehicle. 

The motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle in the accident. He was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. He is listed in serious condition.

The driver of the van was not injured in the accident.

The names of the two people involved in the crash have not been released.

College Avenue between Linwood Avenue and Lynndale Drive was shut down for approximately three hours following the accident.
