An alleged drunk driver was arrested after an Appleton motor vehicle accident Sunday.
Appleton Police say 49 year-old Stephen Aldinger, of Menasha, was driving a pickup truck west on Franklin Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. when he struck a sedan heading southbound on Richmond Street. Two passengers in the sedan, a 78 year-old Appleton man and a 77 year-old Appleton woman, were transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
The woman was treated for life-threatening injuries and the man was released for the hospital Sunday evening. Police did not release the victims’ names of the woman’s condition Monday.
Aldinger was charged with operating while intoxicated-causing injury and recklessly endangering safety. He is being heldin Outagamie County Jail.
