Two people were injured in an Appleton car accident Saturday night.
According to officials with the Appleton Fire Department, the accident occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of North Richmond Street. Firefighters worked to extricate a woman who was pinned inside her vehicle following the crash. She was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening head injury, authorities say.
According to the police accident report, the crash occurred when a 17 year-old driving a small pickup truck north on Richmond encountered some ice on the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. The driver overcorrected and collided nearly head-on with a southbound vehicle driven by the woman.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident. A passenger in the car suffered a shoulder injury.
