A man was killed in an Appleton car accident early Friday.
According to officials with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department, 33 year-old Brian J. Rosin was pronounced dead at the scene after a crash on State 441. Police say Rosin struck the rear of a semi truck just east of the 441 ramp from northbound U.S. 41 shortly after 2:00 a.m. Friday.
According to the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, rosin died of multiple traumatic injuries.
Witnesses say Rosin's vehicle was wedged under the semi trailer. The accident remains under investigation, but deputies say speed appears to be a factor.
The semi was registered to Swift Transportation Co. of Arizona, police said. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.
The Eastbound lanes of the highway from Racine Street were closed around 3:00 a.m until about 7:30 a.m.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and friends during this difficult time.
