Green Bay woman goes to court for fatal pedestrian accident

Posted under Uncategorized

Last week, 42-year old Marlene Wanek went to trial for charges of homicide by operating a vehicle and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.  Wanek was involved in a tragic pedestrian car accident in November that killed her boyfriend.

Kenneth Brown, Wanek's boyfriend, was killed in the car accident.  The two got into an argument after spending the night in a bar.  Brown left to walk home and Wanek followed him in her car.  Investigators determined that Wanek was intoxicated when she was driving, was probably on the phone calling Brown and traveling around 18 to 24 miles per hour over the speed limit.

Wanek told police that she hit something in the road which she later discovered was her boyfriend.  Police arrived at the scene of the accident to find Wanek trying to resuscitate Brown.
