Semi-truck loses two tires, tires fly into car

Posted under Uncategorized

An unusual accident occurred yesterday morning on Highway 41 just outside of Allentown, Wisconsin.  A Dodge Neon was traveling in the northbound lanes of the highway when two semi-truck tires came flying into the vehicle.  The tires had spontaneously flown off of a semi-truck traveling in the southbound lanes of Highway 41.

29-year old James Likeric was driving the Dodge when the accident occurred.  Paramedics had to use the jaws of life to remove Likeric and his wife, 30-year old Karina Likeric, from the vehicle.  The two were taken to Hartford Memorial Hospital and have since been released.

Investigators believe an auto defect may be to blame for the accident.  The Wisconsin State Patrol is looking into the accident to determine if the driver, truck owner, truck manufacturer or tire manufacturer may be held liable.
