Appleton Woman Injured in De Pere Crash

Two people were injured in a 2-vehicle accident on Highway 41 Monday.

According to officials with the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department, a 38 year-old woman from Appleton was traveling northbound on Highway 41 at Scheuring Road, just south of De Pere, shortly before 6:30 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle. Police believe the vehicle hydroplaned, crossed the median, and struck a vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes of the highway.

The 38 year-old driver and the 22 year-old man driving the southbound vehicle were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

The female from Appleton was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Appleton Woman Dies in Moped Crash

A 74 year-old woman died Monday from injuries sustained in an Appleton car accident.

 

According to Outagamie County Coroner Ruth Wulgaert, Donna Lou Roberts died Monday at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. The cause of death was a closed head injury. 

 

Police say Roberts was on Fremont Street and attempted to turn right and head north on S. Oneida Street when she lost control of the moped she was driving. She was not wearing a helmet at the time, Wulgaert said. 

 

Police ID Teens Involved in Fatal June Crash

Oshkosh police have released the names of five teenagers involved in a fatal car accident on U.S. 45 June 9.

 

According to police reports, Alec Bauman, a 17 year-old student at Oshkosh North High School, died Monday from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle collided with a car on U.S. 45 near Jacob Avenue. Police say Bauman was traveling south on U.S. 45 with an 18 year-old woman as a passenger when he was struck by a car driven by an 18 year-old Oshkosh man who was traveling east Jacob. An 18 year-old Appleton woman was a passenger in the car. 

 

The teens involved in the crash were Paul Friday, Joseph Kelbach, Ashlee Harlock, and Sarah Fuller. Police did not release each individual's age or the vehicle in which they were traveling. 

 

The Wisconsin State Patrol is reconstructing the crash and toxicology results are pending.

2 Injured in Appleton Car Crash

Two people were injured in a car crash in the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 Monday morning.

 

According to officials with the Appleton Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m.m when a 38 year-old woman was traveling north on U.S. 41 just south of Scheuring Road, in the town of Lawrence, lost control of her vehicle. The woman's vehicle hydroplaned on the slick pavement, and crossed the median where it was struck by a southbound vehicle, according to the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department.

 

The 38 year-old woman and the driver of the second vehicle, a 22 year-old man from Green Bay, were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The woman was cited for driving too fast for conditions, police say.
