Texting while driving laws may be passed in next year

by Administrator 25. September 2009 00:14

In the past five years, texting while driving has been a rising cause of car wrecks. When drivers text, they impair their ability to drive safely, understand traffic conditions,  and react appropriately.

Many states have recognized the danger of texting while driving. As a result, they have passed laws to either prohibit or restrict the use of cell phones or similar devices while operating a vehicle.

In Wisconsin, there are very few laws regulating cell phone use while driving. However, many key state lawmakers are proposing such rules, and it is likely that a texting while driving law will be passed in the next year.

If you have been injured in a wreck where the other driving was texting  while driving, contact the Appleton car accident attorneys of Habush, Habush, & Rottier, S.C., at 800-242-2874.

The young girl immediately ran from the man and headed for her home. Once safely inside, the girl watched the man pass by her front door twice before driving away. The girl and her father reported the possible abduction, and police are still investigating the case.

A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for an armed robbery that occurred Sunday. The suspect alledgedly entered a Phillips 66 Gas Station on East Newberry St., held a knife in the air, and demanded that the clerk empty the cash register.

Although police were contacted immediately, the robber fled the scene with the cash. Officers, though, were able to use video surveillance and a dog to catch the alleged criminal.
