Drunk Driver Causes Injuries

On Sunday, a man crashed his car into the living room of a house. As a result, both he and a resident of the house were taken to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Center for treatment.

The driver was charged with 4th offense OWI and already has a pending 4th offense charge from an August 21 arrest in Manitowoc County. Police are investigating the accident.

Crash Injures 4 Teens

On Wednesday August 19, a crash occurred on Washington Island. A 16 year old was driving a Ford Ranger when he lost control near the intersection of Pedants Ln and East Swenson Rd, hitting a tree.

The driver and three passengers, all teens, walked away from the crash to a nearby residence. From there, they called 911 and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Duplex Fire

On Monday evening, a fire broke out at an Appleton duplex. Fire fighters received a call at 5:20pm about a fire in the upper story of a duplex on Commerce St.

No one was home in the upstairs residence when the fire started. However, a resident of the downstairs unit was rushed out, unaware of the fire. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Worker Injured in Construction Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, a construction accident occurred at a site along North Koeller St in Oshkosh. A mechanical failure cause pilings to fall over and bury two workers under debris.

The two workers were extricated and put on stretchers and taken to the hospital. One of them suffered a leg injury and it was unclear whether the second worker was injured or not.

3 Injured in Wrong Way Crash

On Tuesday afternoon, a crash occurred along State 441. An Appleton man was southbound when he crossed the center line near County OO/Northland Ave, striking two cars head on.

The southbound driver was impaired at the time of the crash, possibly by prescription medications. All three drivers suffered non life threatening injuries and were taken to Appleton Medical Center.

Motorcycle Crash Injures Rider

On Saturday afternoon, a crash occurred involving a motorcycle and a minivan. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Fairview Rd and Elm Grove Rd in Shawano shortly before 6pm.

The motorcycle rider was ejected and his helmet came off during the crash. He was taken to Theda Medical Center in Neenah in critical condition. The other driver was uninjured in the crash.
