Calumet County Works for Dive Team

by Administrator 22. April 2009 03:45

Calumet County is putting together a dive team that will be based out of Stockbridge, New Holstein, Brillion and Harrison to cover the entire county. This dive team come in the wake of an accident that occurred nearly two months ago when a pickup truck fell through the ice on a lake, killing two.

So far, the county has raised $8,500 toward their $30,000 to $40,000 goal. $7,000 of that came from one very generous resident. The county will need this money to purchase the proper gear and will then need to train at least 30 fire fighters in the use of the equipment. While officials believe that the team will be put together, they also say that it will take time before it is ready.
