9 Year Old Injured by Firework

by Administrator 24. June 2008 06:06
A 9 year old boy from Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania was injured by a popular M-80 firecracker. His father has had crimal charges filed against him.  The boy was left unattended with a number of fireworks well within his reach over the weekend. In addition to fireworks, the boy's father left a cigarette lighter near them. The boy then seized an M-80 as well as the lighter and lit the firecracker while it was in his hand. The firecracker exploded in the boys hand causing a severe injury to the hand, according to the police. The father has been charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person. Spinal Injection leads to $10 million Award for Man

by Administrator 13. June 2008 04:06

A former nuclear pharmacist man has been awarded $10 million in damages after suffering severe pain following a hospital procedure. Larry Schultz, the injured man, was awarded $5 million alone for his pain and suffering. in 1988, Schultz was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and has been receiving treatments for it ever since. In 2006, he went to St. Luke’s Medical Center to have a drug injected into his spine to relieve spasticity caused by the disease. Both Baclofen and Reno-60 were injected. Court documents later revealed that Reno-60 is not meant to be used as an intrathecal injection. This means that it is not meant to be injected into the spine. The negligence on the part of the medical staff lead to serious injuries for Schultz, causing severe spasticity, seizures, and neurological damage. Shultz was forced to use a wheelchair as a result of the painful injuries. Daniel Rottier of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. represented the man throughout his terrible ordeal and was able to assist him in receiving the compensation that he deserved for his injuries. Truck Driver Files Personal Injury Lawsuit

by Administrator 3. June 2008 05:06
Waste Management of Illinois is facing a lawsuit after a man was seriously injured at the Milam Landfill in Granite City, IL. Greg Lutes, the injured man, was operating his truck in the landfill when he stopped to secure a loose swing tailgate on the vehicle. Lutes claims that when he stopped to secure the tailgate, an employee of Waste Management in another vehicle collided with the tailgate, pinning his arm between the two trucks. He claims to have suffered serious injuries as a result of the ordeal. He also claims that Waste Mangement and the employee are at fault for his injuries. He states that the man was negligent by failing to stop in order to avoid a collision and failing to sound the horn to warn him that the vehicle was approaching. He is seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
