After a long and distinguished career as a judge, Joseph M. Troy returned to private practice with Habush Habush & Rottier in August 2007. Mr. Troy served as a State Circuit Court and as Chief Judge of the 8th Judicial District in his 20-year career on the bench. He was named Wisconsin Trial Judge of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2004 and honored with the State Bar of Wisconsin's Public Service Award in 2003.

Mr. Troy is a member of the faculty of the National Judicial College and has lectured nationally for the U.S. Department of Justice Amber Alert training for officers. He has served on the Wisconsin Civil Jury Instructions Committee, was Chair of the Wisconsin Committee of Chief Judges (2005-06) and of the Wisconsin Public Trust and Confidence Task Force. He is a frequent lecturer at continuing education seminars for lawyers and judges.

Joseph M. Troy is an honors graduate of Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin Law School.
